Tiny Roses & Dendritic Opals

Four lovely faceted Dendritic Opals are the basis for this new pair of earrings. Organically shaped, each opal is transparent just enough to show the branches deep inside each stone. Standing in between the bezels are tiny little roses cast in sterling silver. The final step to these new earrings is the oxidized finish that high lights all the lovely details,.

Gemologists use the word “dendrites” to refer to tree-like markings on a gemstone or rock. When an opal or any gemstone displays tree-like inclusion patterns, gemologists call it a “dendritic” variety of that stone. In the spiritual community, dendritic opals hold potent magical properties, often used for healing physical, emotional, and spiritual ailments.

*Materials: Sterling silver, .999 Fine Silver, Oxidized

*Measuring: 2 1/16" long x 1/2" across

*Oxidization is not completely permanent! The earrings will change in appearance over time, especially with daily wear. While it has received a chemical application of Liver of Sulfur as a surface treatment, it will wear off in the high areas over time causing a patina that is unique to the piece.
