Cedar Branches & Dendritic Opals
Gemologists use the word “dendrites” to refer to tree-like markings on a gemstone or rock. When an opal or any gemstone displays tree-like inclusion patterns, gemologists call it a “dendritic” variety of that stone. In the spiritual community, dendritic opals hold potent magical properties, often used for healing physical, emotional, and spiritual ailments.
These dendritic opals are irregularly shaped and are more speckled than branch like and are a bit transparent letting you see the speckles through to the back of the stone. They are also faceted letting them sparkle as they move around. The cedar branches swinging freely from the bottom are cast of sterling silver and carry every detail of the real branches they were created from. A final oxidized finish high lights all of the details.
*Materials: Sterling silver, Oxidized
*Measuring: 2 1/4" long x 5/8" across
*Oxidization is not completely permanent! The earrings will change in appearance over time, especially with daily wear. While it has received a chemical application of Liver of Sulfur as a surface treatment, it will wear off in the high areas over time causing a patina that is unique to the piece.
