Bound & Bent

I chose one of my Husbands ties as the inspiration for this new pair of earrings as part of the "Embracing The Tie" show at the Art Gallery Of Regina as part of a challenge from the Jewellery Artists Guild of Regina. 

The basis for these earrings is roll printed sterling silver that was then cut in the pattern of the motif in the tie. Each piece was given a slight texture on the back side and then a gentle dapping to create the curve with in the pieces.

A single Swarovski crystal was then bezel set on the centre front. A final oxidized finish was given to show off all off the details with in the roll printed pattern.

*Oxidized finishes are not completely permanent! The pendants will change in appearance, especially with daily wear. While it has received a chemical application of Liver of Sulfur as a surface treatment, it will wear off in the high areas over time causing a patina that is unique to each piece.
