This pendant is made in honour of the once shiny new Dome at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building.

The front is roll printed sterling silver with a patina finish to show off the cloud detail. The back plate is made of copper with a roll printed texture on the outside and a hand ground swirl texture on the inside. A bit of stamping on the backside reads "Shiny And New" & "2016" on the backside to signify the completion date of the new Dome.

Sandwiched in between the two layers of metal is a piece of clear acrylic. The clearness allows one to see the changes that will occur naturally to the copper back plate as time goes by. For this purpose I have left the copper with a high shine finish that will change in time with exposure to the air and elements around it. The three layers were hand riveted together.

The pendant comes with a 24" sterling silver necklace chain.

*Measuring: 1 1/8" wide x 1 7/8" long x 1/4" thick

*Materials: Sterling Silver, Copper, Acrylic, Oxidization, 24" Sterling Silver Necklace Chain.

*Oxidization is not completely permanent! The pendant will change in appearance over time, especially with daily wear. While it has received a chemical application of Liver of Sulfur as a surface treatment, it will wear off in the high areas over time causing a patina that is unique to the piece.

The Saskatchewan Legislative Building was built from 1908-1912. It's crowning glory was and is it's copper domed roof over the centre block of the building. For 102 years the Dome stood the test of time but 100 years does take a toll so in 2014 the Dome underwent a complete and total rebuild that took 424 days to complete, 2 winters, 1 spring and 1 summer. In May of 2016 the Dome once again stood as a shiny copper beacon atop the Saskatchewan Legislative Building. As with all shiny copper, the colour of the Dome has since weathered back to the black that we all know best.
