My Monarch
This past summer we had the privilege of having a Monarch butterfly hatch out in our home. This new pendant is in honour of that very special butterfly. I had a perfect photo of it once it's wings were filled out and used that exact image to create the wing pattern on this new work.
This pendant was created with pierced argentium silver on the front and hand stamped on the backside with a layer of orange acrylic riveted between the two layers. The backside is accented with a citrine in the middle of the large flower and 3 purple colour shifting Swarovski crystals representing the purple milkweed that the Monarchs live and feed off of. The last step was to give it an oxidize finish.
The pendant can be purchased alone or with a 24" sterling silver necklace chain. You can also choose to have your chain in a standard high shine finish or oxidized to match the pendant.
Materials: Argentium Silver, Sterling Silver, Acrylic, Citrine, Swarovski Crystals, 24" Sterling Silver Necklace Chain.
Measurements: 2 5/8" long x 1 1/2" wide
*An oxidized finish is not completely permanent! The finish will change in appearance over time, especially with daily wear. While it has received a chemical application of Liver of Sulfur as a surface treatment, it will wear off in the high areas over time causing a patina that is unique to the piece.
